Pizza is a genius invention. It’s easy and hard to mess up. So, most pizzas are delicious, but some, very special, once in a lifetime pizzas, are like heaven in your mouth. When my family got takeout from The Big Tomato Pizzeria, I think I had my once in a lifetime pizza moment. I had a slice of deep dish pizza, and the house salad. The pizza was like falling into a little cloud of happiness. The cheese is a chewy piece of heaven. It went perfect with the tomato sauce on top. The crust was hard, and kind of like a chip, but like a chip that tasted like heaven. I’m sorry I keep saying heaven, but that’s how I would describe my overall experience. The salad was mouthwatering and colorful, and looked like a summer day. The Big Tomato Pizzeria has a wide variety of food. If you look at the menu online, you can find they have pasta, soups, salads, and calzones, which I’ve only ever heard about from Parks and Rec. But, like their deep dish pizza, I’m 100% sure it is delicious. They don’t have many vegan options on their menu, but they do have gluten free, and vegetarian options.

The service is the one thing that was poor quality. I don’t know if it was only bad quality because of coronavirus and it was busy, but it took 3 hours for the delivery man to come. My cousins and I, bored from trying to find ways to hang out from a distance, lazily sat on the front yard, talking and trying to spend time until pizza came. But, we definitely received our reward for waiting so long, with tasty pizza. If you are in quarantine, and live in Wilmette or Evanston, I would recommend it. If you live in the city, and currently in quarantine, I would wait until we get out of quarantine, so your meal can come quickly and you don’t have to wait for your food like me and my cousins. Overall, The Big Tomato is quality pizza and I would recommend it for anyone in the neighborhood.
